P/M: Hear what the Lord Jesus Christ says:”You shall love the Lord your God with all your hearts, and with all your mind, and with all your strength”. This is the first and the great commandment. Therefore, we beg God to have mercy on us, and we ask all the saints to pray for us to the Lord our God. Amen.

P/M(turning to the people): Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and keep us in eternal life, through Christ our Lord./People: Amen

The Epistle: 1 Peter:4:14,16-If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. Yet if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but under that name let him glorify God.

The Gospel (All stand): P/M: The Holy Gospel according to Luke 4:18-19. The Gospel of the Lord; “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor, He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord”. People: Praise to you, Lord Christ.

The SERMON

The Apostles CREED (Please read aloud the text of the Creed which is most meaningful to you).

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again, he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, and the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

Amen.
